Common questions

Which file formats does ChordSlate read?

OpenSong XML (and extensionless OpenSong files), and ChordPro text charts with inline chord brackets.

Which ProPresenter versions does it output?

ChordSlate writes ProPresenter 21 .pro files. Use any working .pro file as a template so output matches your setup.

Where should I save converted files?

Into your ProPresenter library folder. ChordSlate suggests it automatically (see Settings to confirm or override the default).

How do I fix a chord that landed in the wrong spot?

Use the Edit Chords tab: open the .pro file, click the chord chip to edit or retype it, or insert a chord at any character position. Save edits to a new file — every change is recorded in a provenance sidecar.

My song changes key mid-song. Can ChordSlate handle that?

Yes. In the Convert tab, add key changes per row (e.g. Verse 3:E) — the new key persists to the end of the song, and you can show a stage cue (→ E) to the operator.

Does ChordSlate send my files anywhere?

No. Everything happens on your computer. See the privacy policy.

Report a bug or request a feature

Email us with your ChordSlate version (shown in the app), what you expected, and what happened. If a specific file triggers the problem, mention the format — no need to attach the file unless we ask.
